Choosing the right product
Which grit size do I need?
- P40–P80 — coarse work: stripping old paint, removing rust, flattening sheet metal
- P100–P180 — medium: flat-sanding filler and primer
- P220–P400 — fine interlayer sanding, preparing for topcoat
- P500 and up — wet sanding, final finish, polish preparation

What’s the difference between ceramic and aluminium oxide?
Ceramic grain cuts sharper and lasts three to five times longer, but is more expensive. Aluminium oxide is the versatile standard for general use. For intensive machine work on metal, choose ceramic; for manual sanding on wood and fillers, aluminium oxide is enough. → Full comparison
When do I choose film versus paper backing?
- Film is thinner, stronger and water-resistant — ideal for paint finish and machine work
- Latex paper is more flexible and more affordable — ideal for hand sanding of profiles and corners
- Net / mesh has an open weave that evacuates dust directly — indispensable for drywall, filler and paint layers on dust-extraction sanders
How long does sandpaper last?
Depending on material, pressure and grit. Sandpaper that glazes but no longer cuts is spent — it polishes the substrate smooth instead of creating an adhesion profile. Calculate the cost per m² of surface sanded, not per sheet.
Applications
How do I approach wet sanding paint?
Wait 24–48 hours after the topcoat (depending on paint type). Start with P800–P1000 for orange peel, or P1500 if the paint is already smooth. Sand in straight lines, never in circles. Rinse regularly. Work up to P2000 and move on to polishing. → Wet sanding step-by-step
Which paper for auto body repair?
Standard sequence: P40–P80 (steel/rust) → P80–P150 (filler) → P220–P320 (primer) → P400–P500 (interlayer sanding topcoat) → P800–P2000 (wet sanding for polishing). → Full bodywork guide
Which paper for painting work?
For interlayer sanding of paint coats: P220–P280 on primer, P320–P400 for refinement. Mesh or perforated paper (BCG NET, velcro mesh) prevents clogging on paint layers. → Painter’s guide
Can sandpaper be used wet?
Only paper with a water-resistant backing — film or waterproof paper. Standard latex paper tears when wet. Our film and waterproof-paper categories are all suitable for wet use.

Returns & warranty
Can I return my order?
